Yatsenyuk: Europe were and will be united to condemn the Russian military aggression and continue sanctions
OREANDA-NEWS. ”None will lift sanctions from Russia until the RF withdraws its troops, stops sending tanks and artillery, stops their terrorists, restores control over Ukrainian-Russian border and implements the Minsk commitments as whole,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed at a media conference on Monday, January 19.
A joint press conference of Prime Minister of Ukraine and Prime Minister of Poland Ewa Kopacz took place following the Ukrainian-Polish intergovernmental consultations.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed that he had had talks with a Ukraine’s representative to the EU regarding the Foreign Affairs Council’s meeting, which had just winded up and there was held a press conference of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland on the outcomes.
The principal issues for the EU Foreign Affairs Council, Arseniy Yatsenyuk explained, include a global world security and the Russian aggression against Ukraine, "We welcome the fact that our partners, the European Union member states, today had a very frank and long talk about Russia and the Russian military aggression on the territory of Ukraine".
He stressed that the main conclusion after today's Council’s meeting "is the fact that Europe were and are still united to condemn the Russian military aggression and continue sanctions against Russia".
“None will lift sanctions from Russia until the RF withdraws its troops, stops sending tanks and artillery, stops their terrorists, restores control over Ukrainian-Russian border and implements the Minsk commitments as whole, which was inked by the Russian Federation,” the PM underlined.
"Ukraine is fighting for its independence. Ukraine is fighting for peace in the country. But Ukraine is also fighting for peace and security in entire Europe," he stressed.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted "an incredibly high level of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland and the support of Ukraine by Poland”, “Much within the European Union depends on a powerful, firm and correct position of our Polish friends".
