OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2015. This matter was discussed at a meeting between Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of Moldova Vasile Botnari and representatives of international building companies Evrascon, PA&CO and OHL.

The contractors said they had already started requiring employees. The Minister noted that the staff of some companies 93% consists of local dwellers. He mentioned the relevance of the road rehabilitation projects for Moldova and stressed the delays would be sanctioned, bringing as an example the penalties imposed on PA&CO, which rehabilitated the Chisinau-Giurgiulesti road. According to Vasile Botnari, the sector of road rehabilitation and building will add thousands of well-paid jobs and the demand for skilled labour force will be growing.

In this connection, he requested the contractors to place trainees from Moldova’s vocational schools and they agreed. In 2014 the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure launched the projects to rehabilitate the following primary roads: Chisinau-Ungheni-Sculeni; Hincesti-Lapusna, Chisinau-Giurgiulesti and Hincesti-Cimislia. The implementation of the projects will be co-funded by EBRD, EIB and the European Commission.
