OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2015. The Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus has informed that, in accordance with the schedule of the phased shutdown of analog television broadcasting in the territory of the Republic of Belarus, the shutdown of analogue television transmitters of decimeter waves range will be carried out at Radio and Television Transmitting stations (RTTS) in urban settlements Kapyl, Telyaki (Myadel) of Minsk region and Smorgon of Grodno region broadcasting the following programs:

"ONT" at a frequency of 40 TSE(transmission service channel) (626 MHz), "STV" at a frequency of 52 TSE (722 MHz), "NTV-Belarus" at a frequency of 36 TSE (594 MHz) and "Belarus 2" at a frequency of 47 TSE (682 MHz) - from RTTS "Kapyl";

"ONT" at a frequency of 41 TSE (634 MHz), "Belarus 2" at a frequency of 51 TSE (714 MHz), "NTV-Belarus" at a frequency of 49 TSE (698 MHz) and "STV" at a frequency of 34 TSE (578 MHz) - from RTTS "Telyaki" ("Myadel");

"ONT" at a frequency of 24 TSE (498 MHz), "STV" at  a frequency of 40 TSE (626 MHz), "NTV-Belarus" at a frequency of 42 TSE (642 MHz), "Belarus 1" at a frequency of 36 TSE (594 MHz) and "Belarus 2" at a frequency of 22 TSE (482 MHz) - from RTTS "Smorgon".

Currently the broadcasting of compulsory public package of television programs on DVB-T standard in these settlements is carried out from RTTS:

"Kapyl" - at a frequency of 34 TSE (578 MHz), the radius of the service area of the transmitter is 45 km;

"Telyaki" ("Myadel") - at a frequency of 44 TSE (658 MHz), the radius of the service area of the transmitter is 56 km;

"Smorgon" - at a frequency of 59 TSE (778 MHz), the radius of the service area of the transmitter is 35 km.

In accordance with the schedule of the phased shutdown of analog television broadcasting, the next shutdown is planned on February 1, 2015 at RTTS in the urban settlement Volozhin of Minsk region.

In connection with the transition of the Republic of Belarus from analog to digital television broadcasting it is required to make sure of the possibility of TV signals reception in digital format in a timely manner.

RUE Beltelecom offers ZALA terrestrial digital television services (‘Standard TV’ package) or interactive digital television (‘Premiera’ package). The advantages of the services mentioned are digital standard of TV signal transmission, additional services and no need for acquisition of digital TV-tuner – the equipment is provided by RUE Beltelecom free of charge for the contract validity period.

As regard the provision of ZALA terrestrial television services and the connection to the commercial packages of programs in the abovementioned urban settlements:

-  the first and the second multicomplexes (‘Standard TV’ package) are available already in Kopyl:

-  the first multicomplex is available in Myadel, the launching of the second and the third is planed on February 10, 2015;

-  the first multicomplex is available in Smorgon and Volozhin, the launching of the second and the third multicomplexes is to be performed in the near future according to the launch schedule.
Currently the company RUE Beltelecom carries out a special promotion in Myadel, Smorgon and Volozhin and offers to the residents of the urban settlements the usage of tuners free of charge till the moment of commercial programs actuation. According to the terms of the promotion a subscriber is to make prepayment for one-month operation in an amount of 34 050 BYR, the money is credited on a personal account but it is not debited during the usage of the social package of programs. The money is debited since the beginning of the RTTS operation in the subscriber coverage zone after a subscriber has been informed and the reception of commercial package of programs has been set up by a subscriber.

‘Premiera’ package – the connection by the phone line (when technically possible), 45 TV channels including TV channels with the possibility to chose the time of viewing, 52 350 BYR.

‘Standard TV’ package – the reception of the signal on indoor or stationary antenna. It is perfect for rural areas, county houses. 26 TV channels, 34 050 BYR per month.
