OREANDA-NEWS. January 20, 2015. Estonian dairy industry chiefs and Trade and Entrepreneurship Minister Anne Sulling will travel to Japan later in the week where they hope to finalize dairy product sales agreements.

“Estonia has good economic relations with Japan and cooperation has been close and productive, but there remain unused opportunities which could benefit both sides,” Sulling said.

She said good relations began with the trade of CO2 quotas for electric cars and the current trip will also focus on logistics, IT and chemicals, besides the dairy industry.

Postimees reported that Estonian cheese and whey powder could be sold to Japanese companies, and negotiations have gone well so far. Estonian companies are likely to pool resources to match Japanese market demands.
