OREANDA-NEWS. Ulyanovsk plant produced about 54 million vehicles in 2014, informed the first deputy chairman of the government of the Ulyanovsk region, Vildan Zinnurov. In 2013, UAZ produced 62551 cars and car kits. Thus, last year, the company has reduced the production by 14%, says the agency "Interfax".

According to Mr.Zinnurov, UAZ production program in the last year was 51,000 vehicles. Thus, the plant exceeded the plan by 5.9%. In addition, UAZ invested in the modernization of the production about 1.4 billion Rubles in 2014.

In his turn, the governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Sergey Morozov, said that the region will continue to support UAZ, first of all, through the purchase of vehicles for the budgetary organizations. "Costs will be refund by taxes, preserving jobs and saved life on the road thanks to parc renewal," - said Mr.Morozov.

Ulyanovsk plant is Russia's largest manufacturer of SUVs and a key enterprise of group Sollers.
