Kazakh Deputy PM Holds Meeting on Oil Refining Industry
OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2015. First Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev has held a meeting on the development of the oil refining industry with the participation of heads of central government authorities, JSC "KazMunaiGas" and domestic refineries in Ukimet Uiy.
Issues of providing the internal market with light oil products have been discussed at the meeting, as well as reports on the implementation of projects for reconstruction and modernization of Pavlodar refinery, Atyrau and Shymkent refinery have been heard.
According to the Kazakh Ministry of Energy these enterprises produced about 1.9 million tons of gasoline AI-92 and 4.1 million tons of diesel fuel in 2014. The volume of domestic consumption of gasoline AI-92 was 2.9 million tons, diesel fuel - 4.9 million tons. Lacking amount of oil was imported.
Reconstruction and modernization of the three domestic refineries are to be finished by the end of 2016. It will fully meet domestic demand in light oil products and increase the total power of plants to 18.5 million tons of oil per year by 2017.
Bakytzhan Sagintayev instructed to complete the reconstruction and modernization of refineries in accordance with the approved schedule. Progress of the project implementation is under the constant control of the Kazakh Government.
