Kazakh Deputy PM Holds Meeting on Investment Programs
OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2015. First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev has held a meeting on the implementation of investment programs within the maximum tariffs for electricity generation of large power plants, such as Ekibastuz GRES-1 and GRES-2 and JSC "Almaty Power Stations" Ukimet Uiy.
The meeting was attended by heads of central government authorities, Sovereign Wealth Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" and energy-producing enterprises.
Annual investments in the electricity has increased by 5 times for over 5 years of the use of maximum tariffs for power generation and amounted to all in all about 700 billion tenge. This allowed to modernize existing 5000 MW and introduce 1700 MW additional electric power. Additional introduction of power will reach 3300 MW by the end of 2015.
During the meeting Bakytzhan Sagintayev heard reports of the heads of power plants on implementation of specific projects to restore resources and develop capacities, held in the framework of investment programs. Also First Deputy Prime Minister gave instructions for timely and quality completion of projects.
