Moldova Ranks Tenth in International Top of Women Managers
OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2015. Moldova ranks tenth among 126 states at global level with 44.1 per cent women managers, according to a top on quota of women managers of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
The survey makes reference to a 2012 statistics. According to ILO, Moldova is also among the 10 countries all around the world to get the biggest rise of the quota of women managers in all the company managers in 2000-2012.
Moldova outstripped such states from the region as: Ukraine, Russia and Romania, where the quota of women managers is of 39.9 per cent, 39.1 per cent and, 31.4 per cent, respectively.
ILO's data shows that Jamaica is the country with the biggest quota of women managers (59.35). It is followed by Columbia with 53.1 per cent, Saint Lucia (52.3 per cent), Philippines (47.6 per cent), Panama (47.4 per cent), Belarus (46.2 per cent) and Latvia (45.7 per cent). Pakistan, where only 3 per cent of managers are women, Algeria (4.9 per cent) and Jordan (5.1 per cent) are at the bottom of the top.
ILO report shows that the bigger the company is, the fewer chances women have to get the top position. Only 5 per cent of the biggest international companies are led by women CEO.
