TriDef 3D shipments surpass the 50 million mark
DDD's proprietary TriDef® 3D conversion technologies automatically convert 2D images, movies and games to 3D, to enable a consumer to view a variety of content in 3D. The landmark shipping achievement is testament to DDD's innovative product offering and means that over 51 million consumer electronic goods now have the company's TriDef® 3D solutions pre-installed.
Chris Yewdall, CEO of DDD, said:
"We are pleased by the strong growth that the company has achieved in its TriDef® 3D technologies during 2014. These results demonstrate that the 3D TV market is still capable of delivering healthy levels of growth."
This month, at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show, DDD garnered a lot of positive feedback from prospective customers for its soon-to-be launched range of software solutions, aimed at the emerging market for 3D sensors, particularly for its TriDef® Motionview and KapChat™ apps. These new apps utilise the recently launched TriDef® SmartCam technology that enables real time user tracking and background substitution using the conventional webcam found in most mobile products including PCs, tablets and smartphones.
Chris Yewdall added:
"Following our product demonstration at CES, we have received a great deal of positive feedback from prospective clients and I am optimistic that this will convert into further licensing deals for our latest advanced imaging technologies. We are already engaged in technical and commercial discussions with customers in the mobile market to integrate some of our new apps on their smartphones and tablets."
DDD transforms the visual experience. Its advanced imaging and TriDef® solutions are licensed by leading brands for use in TVs, tablets and PCs. Over 51 million 3D products have been shipped by DDD's licensees worldwide. DDD's shares are quoted on the London Stock Exchange's AIM Market (AIM: DDD) and the OTCQX (DDDGY).
