OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2015. Incheon Airport received the “Best Overall Airport in the World” award at GT Tested Reader Survey Awards 2014 held by Global Traveler magazine.

Incheon Airport was inducted into the ‘GT hall of fame’, as it has won the GT Best Airport title 10 times so far. Incheon Airport was the recipient of the 2004 Best Airport award and has won the top prize for the 9 consecutive years since 2006. This is the first time an airport has earned the distinction.

In 2014's award ceremony, Changi International Airport, Singapore, ranked second, followed by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the Netherlands.

Each year, Global Traveler, a global magazine related with business travel, conducts worldwide surveys on different travel-related categories including airports, airlines, hotel, duty-free shops, WiFi service, private jet companies and overseas delivery programs. The ranking was determined based on this survey from 26,000 online survey participants from January to August.

"I expect that Incheon Airport’s global brand value would improve and the award would be helpful in attracting overseas investment and expanding our overseas business activities," Incheon International Airport Corporation President & CEO Park Wan-su said. "I deeply appreciate all the efforts of the government, 40,000 employees of Incheon Airport and related agencies to come to today’s fruition in a sprit of communication and cooperation."
