KSG Agro introduces the latest technologies of the US agricultural companies in its pig breeding business
OREANDA-NEWS. During a working visit to the United States, a representative delegation from KSG Agro Holding had meetings with the management and members of the Association of Pork Producers of Illinois and Iowa agribusinesses. Among the issues discussed were the latest production technologies and quality control approaches, ways to improve the efficiency of pig breeding, veterinary practices, reproductive cycle and fattening of pigs.
“Our Holding plans to enter the top-3 pig companies in Ukraine, so studying and implementing the best American practices in this industry is difficult to overestimate, – says the KSG Agro Holding’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Sergey Kasyanov. The result of our experts’ visit to America came in the introduction of advanced US technology, which includes specific steps to phase increase the proportion of heavy pigs by 15%, improve bio-security through new pig vaccination schemes and a more efficient approach to the calculation of costs and so forth”.
According to the head of the pig business at KSG Agro Holding, director of LLC “Rantye” Dmitry Dubovikov, the pig farm has already implemented technology to increase the average weight of fattening pigs from 110 kg to about 125 kg at the age of 165 days. We are now also introducing new approaches to feeding recipes at all stages of fattening pigs, built on corn and soybeans. New feeding technologies will be a source of significant cost savings and increase of production efficiency at the Holding’s pig enterprises.
