New Cars Will Be Delivered for Russian Dealers in February-March 2015
OREANDA-NEWS. Official dealers of several brands for several days do not sell cars - car dealerships are empty. New arrivals are expected only in February-March of 2015, but after the supply some models will also get new price tags.
According to "Za rulem.RF", the potential buyer of a new car at almost any authorized dealer in Moscow and several regions can buy it only the next year. Stocks of most brands of cars at dealers ended, and the deliveries are expected only in February-March 2015. Representatives of some brands have already received a letter with the new recommended retail prices, but did not disclose details.
The representative of one of the centre Toyota in the south-west of Moscow says sadly that f there are no carsor a few weeks in the auto center. "We have only three cars, two of them were sold and another one from a test drive," - he said. According to the source, the dealer is waiting for the new supply in February-March of 2015, but "prices will rise significantly". Most of the cars from the new supplies have been ordered and some of them were almost completely paid. "People have made an advance payment for Toyota cars, despite the fact that the price of the contract was not fixed. People were ready to buy a car for any amount of money. One of the Land Cruiser 200 was sold even with the additional equipment for 2 million Rubles", - he said and added that the dealer has received an informal request from the Japanese company not to sell cars to citizens of other countries, including Kazakhstan. He also noted that the dealer intends to reduce the sales staff.
The representative of one of the Infiniti dealerships reported that there is only one car in the centre, but it is already sold - the client has not picked up yet. "In early December, it was some kind of madness: people snapped up cars like hotcakes. They tried to pay in dollars or Euros, although we accept only rubles", - said one of the sellers of the Japanese premium brand dealership. Car sales occurred despite the increase in the price several times in November and December; the cars were sold until the moment they run out.
The representative of another dealership said that "what happened in December, I would call panic buying". "People grabbed not only those cars, which they dreamed all their life, but just what was in the centre, despite the configuration and price. There were many buyers from Belarus and Kazakhstan - they keep money in dollars. After the dollar soared, and the prices were even earlier, cars in the Russian showrooms, in fact, lost 30-50% of its price", - he explained.
A source from the largest dealer in Khimki notes that the year was a failure compared to 2013, but sales in November and December "corrected the statistics". Currently, many car dealerships are empty virtually now. "New arrivals are expected after the New Year", - say the representatives of almost all centres.
Manager of one of the major automakers adds: "We have already received the new price lists with so-called recommended retail prices, but no one has ever seen them," - he said.
