OREANDA-NEWS.  JSC "KTZ Express" with the assistance of DB Schenker and air operator KLM tested a pilot shipment of "Hewlett Packard" electronic equipment from China to Europe through Kazakhstan utilizing rail and air transportation modes.

Test also used specialized 45-foot climate control containers recently purchased by JSC "KTZ Express".

The "Rail-Air" route utilizes the Chinese leg of the Chongqing-Duisburg container block train and then at Dostyk entry port in Kazakhastan transfers the container to a train to Almaty.  The goods were then loaded at Almaty International Airport on the KLM flight bound for Amsterdam.

This route is 9,900 km, was completed in just 7 days.  This is compared to the existing "Ocean –Air" routes that take 23 to 30 days.   JSC "KTZExpress" hopes to announce a regular Rail Air route later in 2015.
