OREANDA-NEWS. January 12, 2015. Board of the National Bank of Ukraine by its Decree of 25.12.2014 № 863 "On approval of the procedure for determining systemically important banks" identified 8 systemically important banks as of 01/12/2014. The list includes: UniCredit Bank, PrivatBank, Savings Bank, Ukreximbank, Delta Bank, Raiffeisen Bank Aval, Prominvestbank, Sberbank of Russia.

As of October 1, 2014 UniCredit Bank assets amounted to 44.96 billion UAH, the volume of individuals’ deposits - 11.8 billion UAH.

According to the announcement, the definition of systemically important banks will be hold annually using multivariable mathematical model based on the criteria of systemic importance. The main criteria of systemic importance is the total amount of assets, liabilities, businesses and individuals, system interconnections in the banking system (volume of interbank lending) and the volume of lending to key sectors of the economy.

The purpose of introducing this Regulation is to establish a methodology for determining the banks whose activities affect the stability of the banking system.
