OREANDA-NEWS. January 09, 2015. In natural terms, in July-September 2014 Moldova imported 108.3 million cu m of natural gas, 1.9% more than in the same period of 2013. Gazprom was the only supplier of natural gas to Moldova, NBM said.

As Moldovagaz says, in Q3 2014 the average price Moldova was purchasing natural gas at was USD385.58 per 1,000 cu m, up 2.9% against the same period of 2013. In Q3, 2014 the import of diesel to Moldova decreased 4.6% to 113,250 tonnes in natural terms and 8.5% to USD 106.46 million (FOB) in monetary ones, Moldova’s balance of payments shows. Romania, Belarus, Bulgaria and Russia were the major exporters of diesel to Moldova, with their shares being equal to 93.8%, 4.9%, 0.7% and 0.6% respectively.

The import of petrol to Moldova decreased 1.2% to 42,560 tonnes in natural terms and 3.9% to USD 42.62 million (FOB) in monetary ones. The main supplier of petrol to Moldova was Romania, which delivered 90.3% of all petrol imported to our country in Q3, 2014. Then follow Austria and Bulgaria, with 5.45 and 3.5 respectively.

The coal imports reduced 11.8% and 20.8% in natural and monetary terms respective. In the reporting period Moldova was importing coal from Ukraine (58%) and Russia (40.6%) mostly. The import of electricity from Ukraine to Moldova in Q3, 2014 almost halved to 211.32 million kWh or to USD 14.36 million. Over 9 months of 2014, the import of Ukrainian electricity to Moldova almost halved too, being 628.19 million kWh or USD 42.9 million.
