That time the prices reduced by MDL 0.2-0.25 per litre approximately, A-95 cheapening from MDL 17.6 to MDL 17.37, diesel going down to MDL 16.35-16.37 per litre. However, Vice-Premier, Economy Minister Andrian Candu promised the fuel would cheapen by MDL 1-1.5 per litre. Moldova’s authorities said they waited for a bigger decline in the prices as far as the petroleum prices on global markets had almost halved.

At the same time, petroleum traders in Moldova note that fuel prices are determined not only by global oil prices, but by devaluation of the national currency, which has cheapened by 20% since the beginning of 2014.
