OREANDA-NEWS. January 05, 2015. The gratuitous aid will be given to Moldova as part of Romania’s EUR 100 million grant, Acting Vice-premier, Foreign Minister of Moldova Natalia Gherman says.

It will complement the EUR 20 million Romania's government has allotted to rehabilitate kindergartens of Moldova. To have the funds available, Moldova’s government approved on Tuesday the signing of a rider to the 2014 Cooperation Programme. According to Moldova's Premier Iurie Leanca, the funds will be received before the end of this year.

The 2014 cooperation programme was approved on the base of the Moldova-Romania intergovernmental agreement on financial and technical support, which includes the EUR 100 million grant from Romania to Moldova. As it was said earlier, a total number of beneficiary kindergartens amounts to 790 of which 670 have been selected to be repaired.

The rest of them will be provided with furniture. Most of the works will be completed next spring. The works to equip the 120 kindergartens with furniture and playgrounds were started on September 15, 2014.
