OREANDA-NEWS. January 05, 2015. The Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch takes an active part in elimination of consequences of black oil accidental spillage, which happened near mooring berth at stake No. 40 of the Kaliningrad canal in Baltic cargo area of Kaliningrad seaport during bunkering of Fedor Varaksin motorship (ship-owner OJSC "Northern Shipping Company").

In the Kaliningrad maritime rescue co-ordination centre an emergency response center was established headed by the master of Kaliningrad seaport. Senior management of the North-Western Basin Branch Kaliningrad Department takes part in its work.

As the emergency response center informs, the volume of the black oil spillage can reach 15 m3.

To eliminate the consequences of the accidental spillage, which is under direct control of the Federal Budgetary Institution “Marine Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot” Kaliningrad Branch and the Federal State-Owned Enterprise “Gosaquaspas” Kaliningrad Branch, the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch involved its own forces: 11 workers, 2 pieces of mechanical transport and small-sized surveying vessel Nadezhda.
