Bellesbumprom Reports 37.6% Increase in Proceeds from EU-Bound Exports
OREANDA-NEWS. Companies controlled by Belarus' timber and paper industries concern Bellesbumprom increased proceeds from exports to foreign countries other than the CIS states by 37.6% in January-October 2014 to USD 130.5 million, Bellesbumprom said in a press-release.
Due to economic stagnation in Russia, Kazakhstan and other CIS states, Bellesbumprom opted to explore new markets in early 2014.
Proceeds from exports to Great Britain grew 15.5 times to USD 7.9 million, the Netherlands - up 7.2 times to USD 2.3 million, Turkey - up 7.9 times to USD 2.3 million, Czech Republic - up 2.1 times to USD 4.9 million, Slovakia - up 2.2 times to USD 1.5 million, Serbia - up 40% to USD 2.1 million, exports to Lithuania grew 28.6% year on year in Jan-Oct to USD 18 million, Hungary - up 43.2%, Belgium - up 22.5%, Poland - up 15.6%.
Exports of timber grew 52.4%, veneers - up 47.8%, cardboard and paper - up 32.3%, window and door blocks - up 10.8%, furniture - up 8.1%, wallpaper - up 3.3%.
Companies controlled by Belarus' timber and paper industries concern Bellesbumprom exported USD 464.6 million worth of products to 42 countries in Jan-Oct 2014.
Bellesbumprom comprises 46 companies producing timber, wooden furniture, paper and cardboard, furniture accessories.
