PM: Crimea was, is and remains Ukrainian territory
OREANDA-NEWS. "Nobody has recognized the annexation of Crimea, Crimea was, is and remains the Ukrainian territory. If God helps us, we will manage to regain control over Crimea. If not, our children or grandchildren will manage to do this. But we will regain Crimea," Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated at a press conference on December 30, 2014.
He has stresses that anyone who works in Crimea falls under sanctions – of the European Union and the United States.
"The European Union imposed sanctions, the United States introduced sanctions. And there are little chances that it will become a gray offshore zone, as nobody wants assets accounted in Crimea to fall under sanctions," the Prime Minister at the press conference.
"I believe that if now those who live in Crimea and went to the so-called referendum that the Kremlin had prepared as a pretext to the annexation of Crimea went to this referendum, they would go with a completely different mood. And, it is doubtful, whether half of them goes," Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.
The Prime Minister has emphasized that even in these very difficult bilateral relations that have developed between Ukraine and Russia, "I would like Russians and Russian people not to suffer from the imperial policy of the current Russian regime," which caused "the Russia’s annexation of Crimea, military intervention in Ukraine that killed 5000 people."
