O'Key Group Announces Opening of 108th Store
OREANDA-NEWS. O'KEY GROUP S.A. (LSE: OKEY), a leading Russian food retailer, today announced the opening of its second hypermarket in Nizhniy Novgorod, Volga Federal District. The store is the Group's ninth opening in 2014.
The hypermarket's total floor-space amounts to 19,600m2, including trading space of 8,560m2. The store in Nizhniy Novgorod has a larger than usual subleased area and an "O'KEY" branded cafe.
The shopping complex includes a parking lot with 750 spaces. The store offers customers more than 40,000 SKUs, with non-food items accounting for approximately 40% of the total. The store has 301 employees.
This is the Group's 69th hypermarket and 108th store overall, including supermarkets, with an aggregate trading space exceeding 552,000m2.
O'KEY is one of the largest retail chains in Russia. Its primary retail format is the modern Western European hypermarket under the "O'KEY" brand, complemented by "O'KEY - Express" supermarkets.
The Group opened its first hypermarket in St. Petersburg in 2002 and has demonstrated continuous growth ever since. As of December15, 2014, O'KEY operated 107 stores in 27 cities across Russia: 68 hypermarkets with an aggregate selling space of approximately 494,000m2 and 39 supermarkets with an aggregate trading space of approximately 48,000 m2. As of December 15, 2014, O'KEY employed over 23,000 people.
