OREANDA-NEWS. Datsun Company is considering the possibility of production of the third model in the facilities of AvtoVAZ in 2017-2018 year. It was announced by Director of Datsun in Russia, Jerome Sego, by recalling that the Japanese company produces in Togliatti now sedan Datsun on-DO and hatchback Datsun mi-DO. According to him, the new model will complete the model range of Datsun in the Russian market.

According to "RBK", the decision about the class of the new car is still pending. "Crossover / SUV [SUV] - this is what is being discussed," - said Mr.Sego. By speaking about the terms of the start of production, the manager said that "you need to find the right moment in the market."

Production of sedan Datsun on-DO, created on the platform Lada Kalina / Granta, began at the plant in Togliatti in October of 2014, and two weeks ago it was started the production of hatchback Datsun mi-DO. Sales of the latest model in the Russian market will start in February of 2015. Both models are planned in the future be equipped with automatic transmissions.

As previously reported, the Russian dealers of Datsun sold in November 4011 sedans on-DO, which is more than two times higher than in October, when it was sold 1,779 cars. Since the start of sales in September, more than 6,300 cars Datsun on-DO found their buyers in Russia. "The dynamic growth of sales for the first three months for us is a very important figure, it indicates that our product takes gradually its place in the market and it is gaining interest and trust of customers, they appreciate its combination of safety, comfort, practicality and affordable cost. For us it is confirmation that we are moving in the right direction", - said the director of Datsun in Russia, Jerome Sego.

Meanwhile, Datsun is developing actively its authorized dealer network throughout Russia. At the moment of start of sales Datsun on-DO it was opened 25 branded dealerships in the major regions of Russia, and by the end of March of 2015 the number will rise to 60.
