KazTransOil Launches Power Compensating Units at Oil Pumping Stations
OREANDA-NEWS. "KazTransOil" JSC is completing the deployment of reactive power compensating units at such oil pumping stations (OPS) as "Beineu" (Mangistau region), "Karaton" (Atyrau region) and "Prorva" (Atyrau). These devices are installed in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On energy saving and energy efficiency improving" and the Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 29, 2012 No.1765 "On approval of standard values of a power factor for power grids of individual entrepreneurs and legal entities".
The reactive power compensating units automatically adjust the power factor and upgrade it up to cos ѓУ = 0,99-1, thereby stabilizing the voltage in grids and reducing losses of active energy, which today is one of the most important strands in energy efficiency and saving. In 2013, similar devices were installed at OPS "Bolshoy Chagan" (West Kazakhstan), OPS "Kalamkas" (Mangistau region), HOPS "Pavlodar" (Pavlodar region). According to the "KazTransOil" JSC Cost Management Program for 2013-2016, the company plans to deploy these devices for the most energy-intensive facilities until the end of 2016.
"KazTransOil" JSC is the subsidiary of "KazMunayGas" NC JSC and the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the main oil pipeline.
