OREANDA-NEWS.  December 26, 2014. Draft Law "On special protective, antidumping and countervailing measures in relation to third countries" has been adopted in the first reading at the plenary session of the Majilis.

"The bill provides the procedure for calculation, payment, enrollment, distribution, return and offset of special protective, antidumping and countervailing duties, by analogy with the import customs duties. The bill would allow to fulfill obligations made in the framework of the Customs Union, aimed at creating common trade policy in the sphere of protection of special protective, antidumping and countervailing measures, to bring regulations of national legislation into line with the WTO agreements," Kazakh Minister of National Economy Yerbolat Dossayev said.

According to him, the bill is designed to harmonize legislation with the regulatory and legal framework of the Customs Union and WTO agreements.

Majilismen also reviewed and approved consequential amendments to the legislation in the first reading.
