OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2014. Kazakhstan plans to increase grant financing for technology commercialisation, it has been announced by Vice Minister of Education Takir Balykbayev during the Government Hour of Parliament Majilis.

"80-85% of the funding is allocated to fundamental applied research in Kazakhstan, somewhere around 15% to experimental design work. There is the other parctice in the world, 60-65% of the money goes to engineering development, and we reported this vision and our approaches have been approved in principle, so we plan to increase grants financing for commercialisation, including patent grant," T. Balykbayev said.

He noted that currently the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the World Bank is carrying out 30 projects in the field of technology commercialisation. 6 billion tenge have been allocated for this purpose, according to Vice Minister. 10 projects are set up into production from this number.

In addition, Vice Minister added that the draft law on the commercialization of scientific, scientific and technical activities is being developed in Kazakhstan.
