NBU Governor Appointed Member of National Council of Reforms
OREANDA-NEWS. Valeria Gontareva, National Bank of Ukraine Governor, has been appointed a member of the National Council of Reforms according to Decree No.947-2014 of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko defining the composition of the National Council of Reforms.
"Today, reforms rather mean some specific decisions than a political slogan. The decisions, which, as a rule, are difficult and unpopular, but are vital for our country," NBU Governor said. "The National Bank does its best to ensure stability in the banking sector and in the whole financial system."
Valeria Gontareva has also confirmed that the National Bank of Ukraine has a clear understanding of the Road Map for changes in the financial sector.
"Together with market participants and foreign experts we have drafted the Strategy for Reforming the Banking System of Ukraine - 2020," the NBU Governor said.
Apart from the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, the following officials are members of the National Council of Reforms: President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Chairman of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman, Head of Presidential Administration of Ukraine Borys Lozhkin, Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Budget Andrii Pavelko, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk and others.
The first meeting of the Council will be held on December 24, 2014, as specified in the Presidential Decree.
