St-Petersburg, Russia; 24 December, 2014 - Lenta, (LSE, MOEX: LNTA) one of the largest retail chains in Russia, is pleased to announce the opening of its third hypermarket in Tyumen.
The new store is a Lenta standard format hypermarket located at 101 Tobolsk Highway, Tyumen. The store has a total area of 12,000 sq.m, with 7,018 sq.m of selling space and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A broad product assortment of approximately 27,000 SKUs has been selected specifically for residents of Tyumen and includes Lenta's private label and federal product ranges alongside local produce. The store has 500 parking spaces and 41 cash registers. The property is owned by Lenta.
Lenta's Chief Executive Officer, Jan Dunning said:
""This is our 26th hypermarket opening so far this year and takes Lenta another step beyond its guidance of 24 hypermarket openings in 2014, which was set when our IPO was announced in February.
Lenta has a longstanding presence in Tyumen, having opened our first store in the city in 2006. Residents have shown considerable enthusiasm for the Lenta offering and we are delighted to bring our third hypermarket to the city and sixth to the region."
This latest opening in Tyumen is Lenta's 26th hypermarket opening in 2014 and brings the total number of Lenta stores to 103 hypermarkets in 60 cities across Russia and 23 supermarkets in the Moscow region.
