Vale Installs Ship Loaders at Nacala-a-Velha Multiuser Terminal
OREANDA-NEWS. The process was completed after 10 days of intense work.
The process of unloading the two ship loaders that will be installed at the Nacala-a-Velha Multiuser Maritime Terminal was successfully completed at the beginning of December.
It took 25 days for the transport to arrive by sea, docking at the port at Nacala-a-Velha on November 25. The last piece was unloaded on December 5, and all of the parts are now ready to be assembled.
Ship loaders are large pieces of equipment used to load bulk solids, such as iron ore and coal.
These will be at the final stage of a large process spanning a distance of 912 km, starting in Moatize and ending in the Bay of Nacala, and will enable coal logistics from Nacala-a-Velha Port.
In 2014 we completed the greenfield stretch of the railway infrastructure connecting Moatize to the Nacala-a-Velha Maritime Terminal. The first train went into operation at the end of November.
