Kazakhstan, Belarus to Introduce Permit-Free Shipping System
OREANDA-NEWS. December 24, 2014. The draft law "On ratification of the Protocol on Amendments to Agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and Belarus on international road transport from January 19, 2004" has been considered at an enlarged meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship of the Senate.
Protocol was committed in Minsk on April 25, 2013. As Kazakh Vice Minister of Investment and Development Zhenis Kasymbek noted in an interview with journalists, document aims to establish a permit-free passage of motor vehicles for shipping between Kazakhstan and Belarus, as well as transit through the territories of both parties.
The bill will allow domestic transporters to make free shipping to Europe through the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
"This process is so correct, because we have integration in the framework of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space, and so on," Z. Kasymbek said.
In addition, he said, the application of the provisions of the Protocol will have a positive impact on the development of transport and transit potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as currently the bilateral and transit transportations are carried out on the basis of permit forms, which our country and the Republic of Belarus annually exchange in limited quantities.
