OREANDA-NEWS. The Government is implementing two schemes through National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) aimed at the development of weavers’ cooperatives namely;

(i) Central Sector Integrated Scheme on Agricultural Cooperation (CSISAC)

(ii) Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) of Ministry of Textiles

Ten such co-operatives in Odisha have been benefitted from these schemes for the benefit of weavers. Since inception, NCDC has provided Rs.3880.54 lakhs to the Government of Odisha under Government Schemes, for (i) Handloom Weavers Cooperative Societies (Rs.2382.33 lakh comprising Rs.2178.53 lakh as loan from NCDC and Rs.203.80 lakh as subsidy) and (ii) Handloom Weavers Cooperative Spinning Mills (Rs.1498.21 lakh as loan).
