OREANDA-NEWS. AvtoVAZ began the production of Lada Granta sedan with automatic transmission (AMT). The first car was assembled on December 22nd. Sales start of sedans with AMT is scheduled for February 2015; the new transmission will appear later on the liftback Granta. As stated in AvtoVAZ, the car with a new gearbox has become more economical by 10% than with the manual transmission, and by 30% more economical than with the classic "automatic".

Recall that the first car Lada with AMT was Priora (the production was launched in October of 2014). From August to November AvtoVAZ and its partners have adapted the design of Lada Granta to AMT: The car has successfully passed the test and certification cycle. AMT on the Lada Granta is analogous completely to the AMT of Lada Priora. Engineers needed to make changes of controller calibrations on Lada Granta, since this model is different to the air conditioner.

MT for Lada is based on the serial manual gearbox. Together with the German company ZF it was installed actuators of switching speeds and cutoffs of coupling on gearbox, developed the most advanced software. AMT allows you to move as in fully automatic, so in manual modes.
