OREANDA-NEWS. Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Co and its French partner Renault SA stopped to take orders for some models in Russia. It was announced by the head of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, Carlos Ghosn, by stressing that the suspension will affect only some models, and the previously placed orders will be fulfilled.

The head of the alliance explained that the situation with the Russian ruble has a negative impact on all participants of automotive market: "The bad news is that the market is shrinking. This is bad news for everyone. When the ruble downs, it is cupping for all. It is loses, people lose money, automakers are losing money”. The head of the alliance believe that the Russian market is stabilizing.

Nissan representative in Russia assured "RBK" that the company has not stopped the shipment; the order to stop the supply of cars was not. At the beginning of December, the company raised prices by 2-3% for four models, six models rose by 5.3% on December 17th.

The representative of Renault in Russia explained that exports to Russia are stopped for some niche models: for example, such as Clio RS, whose sales in the total volume are less than 5%. The whole list of models is not named by the source. Sales of already imported cars will not be stopped. The representative of Renault does not mention the terms of renewal of deliveries, by specifying only that it will not happen before the completely sold stock.

The representative of Renault also reported that on December 11th the Moscow plant Renault “Avtoframos" stopped the work for a month, until January 11th. There are assembled old Logan, Duster, Fluence and Megane, it is also produced Nissan Terrano in the plant. Stop of production at AvtoVAZ, which assembles Renault Logan and Sandero of new generation, is not planned.
