Tele2 announces Moscow launch schedule
OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator has announced the Moscow launch timetable. The operator will start providing mobile services in the capital in mid-2015.
The company is now actively planning its launch in Moscow Region: it is rolling out its network, leasing the sites and negotiating on the development of the retail network. The operator will first provide stable network coverage, high-speed wireless Internet and open points of sales within a walking distance of clients. Tele2 will offer convenient tariffs at affordable prices and without any hidden conditions.
According to the shareholder-approved plan, 3G and 4G services under Tele2 brand will first be launched in Voronezh, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Nizhniy Novgorod, Omsk, Perm, Rostov-na-Donu, St. Petersburg and Chelyabinsk.
A large part of 4G networks will be deployed in GSM-1800 frequencies based on technology neutrality. This will provide a fast and efficient launch of the existing 2G networks.
By the end of 2016, a majority of subscribers will have an opportunity to use high-speed wireless Internet in 3G and 4G networks.
Aleksandr Provotorov, First Deputy CEO at Tele2:
“The Tele2 strategy implies a considerable increase in market share thanks to new-generation network construction and launch in new regions. In compliance with the plan shareholders took decision to launch mobile services in Moscow Region in mid-2015. The company will consequently implement an earlier approved development plan for 2015. We believe that the overall market picture will not considerably affect the Tele2 strategic program as the company has the lowest costs in the industry and can negotiate the most profitable conditions with its vendors.”
