OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2014. The second award ceremony of foreign investors for vigorous activity in Kazakhstan has been held with the participation of the Kazakh Minister of Investment and Development Asset Issekeshev in the capital hotel "Rixos".

"As you know, Head of State defines foreign investment as the engine of economic growth in the policy. The same idea is behind the Strategy "Kazakhstan 2050". Also Kazakhstan has taken a set of measures to improve the investment climate as part of the industrial program," A. Issekeshev said, referring to investors.

8 companies that have contributed to the industrialization of Kazakhstan, to the expansion of investment and the development of high-tech industries have been marked during the ceremony.

So, the Japanese companies Shimadzu (production of X-ray machines in SKR), NYKLine (construction of automotive logistics terminal in Almaty), the German companies HeidelbergCement (modernization of two cement plants in the East Kazakhstan Region and Mangistau Region, and four concrete plants in Astana, Almaty and Aktau) and MetroCashandCarry (construction of 8 shopping centers "Metro" in the EKR, SKR, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Aktobe regions, Astana and Almaty) have been awarded for investment activity.

Also the Turkish company GalaksiGroup (production of construction materials in Almaty), the Australian company ORICA (emulsion matrix production in Pavlodar region) and the Korean company POSCO (production of titanium slabs in the EKR) have been marked with awards.

It is noted that 15.9 billion dollars of direct investments have been attracted to the manufacturing industry of Kazakhstan since 2010. This is 2.5 times more than over 5 years of prior implemented national program FIID.

The event was organized by JSC "National Agency for Export and Investment "KAZNEXINVEST" of Kazakh Ministry of Investment and Development.
