SFO Food Service Workers, Restaurants Reach Tentative Agreement
OREANDA-NEWS. The San Francisco International Airport (SFO) today announced a tentative agreement between Airport food service workers and restaurants.
Unite Here! Local 2, which represents food service workers at SFO, and SFO Restaurants, an organization of Airport restaurant owners and operators, reached the tentative agreement for a new 6-year collective bargaining agreement that provides for increased wages, health insurance and benefits. A ratification vote is scheduled for Monday, December 22, 2014.
"I am very pleased that both parties have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract," said Airport Director John L. Martin. "I am proud of our outstanding restaurant owners and employees, who provide an excellent culinary experience for our passengers. This new contract will ensure the best pay and benefits for SFO food service employees."
"We are happy to have reached this agreement with our employees," said SFO Restaurants' President Steve Sarver. "The nationally recognized food & beverage programs at SFO now have a long-term contract for our important asset: our employees."
"We view this as an important step forward at SFO," said Unite Here! Local 2 Food Service Director Anand Singh. "This contract provides workplace standards that allow our members to continue delivering outstanding service to the customers of SFO."
