NCSP Group Cargo Turnover for 11M 2014 Totals 122 mln Tonnes
OREANDA-NEWS. Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port Group (NCSP Group or the Group) (LSE: NCSP, Moscow Exchange: NMTP) announces that its consolidated cargo turnover in January-November 2014 amounted to 122 million tonnes.
Liquid cargo turnover comprised 95.2 mln tonnes; bulk cargo totaled 11.0 mln tonnes; general cargo amounted to 10.8 mln tonnes as well, and container turnover reached 5.0 mln tonnes or 588.6 thousand TEU.
Liquid cargo
Liquid cargo volumes in the reporting period totaled 95,223 thousand tonnes, including 68,722 thousand tonnes of crude oil; 25,634 thousand tonnes of oil products; 601 thousand tonnes and 266 thousand tonnes of UAN and seed oils respectively.
Oil products volumes were up 3,461 thousand tonnes or 15.6% year-on-year, while total volume of oil products transshipped at all Russian seaports grew only 14.9% year-on-year in January-November 2014.
Bulk cargo
From January till November 2014 NCSP Group loaded 11,049 thousand tonnes of bulk cargo, including 6,625 thousand tonnes of grain; 1,626 thousand tonnes of iron ore; 1,084 thousand tonnes of coal; 1,003 thousand tonnes of raw sugar, and 672 thousand tonnes of mineral fertilizers.
Total bulk cargo grew 44.7% year on year driven by grain, sugar, and coal volumes, which were up 95%, 34%, and 41.2% year-on-year respectively.
Thanks to more attractive market offering on Russian coal, and improved weather conditions at the port of Novorossiysk, the Group handled 153 thousand tonnes of coal in November versus 71 thousand tonnes in October 2014. Annual growth rates of coal and sugar volumes both sped up by 7.7 percent point versus that of ten months 2014.
General cargo
In January-November 2014 NCSP Group transshipped 10,842 thousand tonnes of general cargo which exceeds the volume of same period last year by 12.1% or 1,169 thousand tonnes.
Of these ferrous metals and pig iron comprised 8,746 thousand tonnes; non-ferrous metals totaled 946 thousand tonnes; timber cargo accounted for 589 thousand tonnes; and perishable and other cargo comprised 258 thousand tonnes and 303 thousand tonnes respectively. Volumes of ferrous metals and pig iron grew by 911 thousand tonnes or 11.6% year-on-year, twice as much versus 6.5% year-on-year industry's average growth.
Container cargo
NCSP Group container traffic for eleven months of 2014 comprised 4,977 thousand tonnes and 588.6 thousand TEU. Year-on-year growth comprised 6% in TEU and 13,4% in tonnes, versus 5.6% year-on-year increase of container traffic at Russian seaports in the reporting period in TEU.
