OREANDA-NEWS. Specialists of OJSC E4-SibCOTES will determine an optimal way of the electric power and heat supply of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Alabuga (the Republic of Tatarstan). This task will be performed together with OJSC KER-Engineering by the end of 2014 within the framework of the business plan which at present is in the process of development.

E4-SibCOTES considers two options for the construction of a 165 MW power source or a 230 MW power source. The first project provides for the transfer of the existing electric power station and the second project provides for the usage of the new equipment that was initially manufactured and planned for location at Novobogoslovskaya CHP plant. These project options are considered for implementation both on the territory of SEZ Alabuga and at the site adjacent to Elabuzhskaya CHP plant.

The Special Economic Zone Alabuga is set on the territory of Elabuzhsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia) with the purpose to establish favorable conditions for the implementation of investment projects in the industrial sphere by Russian and international companies.

Today 42 enterprises operate here with the total consumption of power - 239 MW. Considering the growth rates of SEZ Alabuga, it is forecasted that at the year 2020 a number of enterprises will increase up to 120 and the electric power consumption will increase up to 580 MW. Given the existing power capacities, a deficit in electric power can appear already in 2017-2018.
