Jiading Hosts Forum on Clean Diesel Development
OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2014. The third China Clean Diesel Development Forum themed "the industrialization of clean diesel vehicles in China" recently closed at Tongji University's Jiading campus.
Over 100 experts and scholars from governmental departments, auto and engine factories, petrochemical enterprises and research institutes discussed the topic and achieved a consensus on clean diesel development trends, policies, energy conservation and environment protection.
Experts from the vehicle emission control center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Tongji's School of Automotive Studies, and domestic and foreign auto enterprises delivered speeches on the development of clean diesel technology and industry. Diesel vehicles can save 30 to 40 percent of fuel compared with gasoline cars. Their carbon emission is also 30 percent lower than gasoline ones. Experts believe that, apart from new-energy vehicles, clean diesel vehicles can also deal with energy shortage and air pollution.
The forum, as a communication platform on clean diesel development in China, was first held in Shanghai in Nov 2012. Tongji University put forward the idea to establish the Clean Diesel Car Association of China at the forum.
