OREANDA-NEWS.There is no proposal to merge JNNURM, IAY, RAY and RRY. The Government has set the target of providing houses to all by 2022 as announced in the President’s address to joint session of both the houses on 9th June, 2014. Accordingly, Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, after making consultations with various stakeholders including State Governments, industry associations, etc, is in the process of formulating a new scheme for ‘Housing for All’ by 2022 in the urban areas subsuming existing schemes of Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) and Rajiv Rinn Yojana (RRY). The scheme, at present, is at appraisal stage by Expenditure Finance Committee. Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Mission (JNNURM) was extended till March 2015 only for completion of projects approved till March 2012.

This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Shri Babul Supriyo in a written reply to Dr Kirit P Solanki in the Lok Sabha today.
