Tatfondbank Wins Cbonds Awards Investment Prize
OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2014. The official ceremony of presenting investment prizes of Cbonds Awards 2014 took place within the framework of the Russian Bond Congress in St. Petersburg. Tatfondbank won the prize in the category “The Breakthrough of the Year”.
The prestigious prize of Cbonds Awards was awarded to Tatfondbank for active development of investment business and its achievements in this field in 2014: successful placement of Eurobonds, the use of a new mechanism in the debt market (additional placement of bonds), and attraction of perpetual subordinated loan in the amount USD 60 million.
Cbonds Awards is an annual prize established by Cbonds federal news agency in 2004. Traditionally, the prize is awarded within the framework of the annual Russian Bond Congress. The award winners are largest investment banks and companies of Russia.
“Winning the prize of Cbonds Awards confirms the efficient work of Tatfondbank’s team. I am grateful to my colleagues for the results of the work done in the challenging international economic environment and to experts for recognising the bank’s achievements’, said Vadim Merzlyakov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management supervising the Tatfondbank’s investment business, commenting on the event.
Developing its investment business, Tatfondbank has been an active participant of Russian and international bond markets. This year, the bank placed Eurobonds to the amount of USD 70 million, which became the first transaction for Russian banks implemented in international capital market after the Crimean events. In addition to that, a perpetual subordinated loan in the amount of USD 60 million was included to the bank’s supplementary capital.
Over the year, several positive rating actions were taken with respect to Tatfondbank on the part of international and national rating agencies. Moody’s Investors Service improved Tatfondbank’s long-term rating to B2. Starting from the beginning of the year, the bank was assigned ratings from Standard & Poor’s (later affirmed), and the ratings from two national agencies: AK&M Agency and National Rating Agency. Besides, Expert RA Rating Agency has confirmed the rating of creditworthiness of Tatfondbank at the level of A and later improved the sub-level of this rating from “third” to “second”.
