OREANDA-NEWS. Haribo, one of the leading confectionery manufacturers worldwide in the fruit gum and liquorice sector, has expanded the supply of process steam at its Hungarian factory, Haribo Hung?ria Kft in Nemesv?mos. As part of the extension of the factory, which was founded a good ten years ago, a complete system from Bosch Industriekessel was used, which could be matched exactly to the customer's requirements thanks to the numerous components available, and which ensures energy-efficient operation.

The new boiler of the UL-S type can produce up to 4,000 kilograms of steam per hour. The integrated economizer uses the hot flue gases from the boiler to preheat the feed water, this reducing fuel demand and flue gas losses. The use of flue gas condensation in the stainless steel condensing heat exchanger, which is located downstream, also contributes to an increase in efficiency. The two heat recovery units increase the efficiency of the system by around nine percent. The perfectly matched natural gas firing system provides for particularly low-emission combustion.

The system equipment also includes modules for water treatment and disposal, as well as for the recovery of condensate. The water service module WSM-V degases the make-up water in order to prevent corrosion of the system components. The thermally treated water is supplied to the steam boiler by means of feed water pumps. The blow-down, expansion and cooling module BEM is used to dispose of the hot waste water in the boiler. The condensate service module CSM recovers condensate from the process, thereby reducing energy usage and the demand for fresh water.

The management systems BCO and SCO play a key role, when it comes to ensuring that the boiler and systems are operated with optimum energy efficiency. All the operating data can be analysed, evaluated and set via the intuitive operator interface. A teleservice connection provides quick and simple support in the event of a fault.

With its new boiler system, Haribo once again relies on modern boiler technology from Bosch. A steam boiler U-HD has been in use at the Hungarian site since the beginning of production. Thanks to the integration of the existing system into the new steam network, there are currently 6,000 kilograms of steam available for production. The Hungarian company Kazantrade, a partner of Bosch for many years, was responsible for implementing the innovative and energy-efficient overall concept. Thanks to its modular design, the energy system can be expanded at any time to meet required increases in capacity.
