OREANDA-NEWS. TPDDL has won the 38th SKOCH Renaissance Award-2014 under Platinum category for Best Practices and Projects in Power Distribution. The company has been awarded under the following sub - categories:

TPDDL was recognized for implementing the SAP-Business Communication Manager system to enhance consumer satisfaction. The "Automated Demand Response with Smart Meter" system helped it to lower peak demand during grid stress and the "Demand Side Management" system helped in energy conservation to a great extent. By empowering slum clusters through CSR interventions, the company also reduced AT&C losses.

The Award was given by Mr. Ashok Chawla, Chairman of Competition Commission of India. Honorable Union Minister of Urban Development, Shri Venkaiah Naidu, was the chief guest for the event named "Resurgent and Competitive India". Around 119 projects from different companies got "The Order of Merit" in various categories, which were evaluated based on the application and presentation made.

TPDDL's Best Practices and Projects were shared by Dr. G Ganesh Das (Head, Strategy and Business Relations), along with Mr. Mithun Chakraborty (AGM, Strategy) and Mr. Satyanarayan Mahapatra (Executive, Strategy and Business Relations). The Best Practices and Projects were also part of the peer evaluation, in which companies like Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, BHEL, KEC International, Mahindra Housing, SAIL, Apollo Hospitals, Power Finance Corporation, Intel Technology, Microsoft India, Engineers India Limited, Shree Cement, etc. participated under different categories.
