OREANDA-NEWS. Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the appointment of Mr. Vinod Valson as General Manager for Vivanta by Taj, Yeshwantpur, who has previously worked in Vivanta by Taj, MG Road, as General Manager.

Vivanta by Taj - Yeshwantpur is a 'gen-next' hotel conveniently located close to the international airport and right in the middle of the convention district of Bangalore, thus being a MICE destination.

Mr. Valson brings with him a wealth of hospitality operation and management experience and has been associated with the Taj Group of Hotels for over 20 years, holding key portfolios across hotels. Vinod Valson is an alumni of the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Mumbai.

Mr. Valson will replace Ms Perpetua Kumar, who retires after a 20-year journey with the Taj Group, who has lead the Vivanta by Taj- Yeshwantpur property for over 4 years as the General Manager.

Ms Kumar joined the Taj Group of Hotels at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai in 1977 and after a successful career path at The Taj, she was appointed the General Manager of Vivanta by Taj, Yeshwantpur.

Some of her achievements include setting up the Taj Bengal in 1980 and leading various properties such as Taj Residency, Indore, the Taj Manjarun Hotel in Mangalore, the Taj Residency (now Vivanta by Taj- MG Road) as well as the Taj West End as a General Manager.

In the course of her career at The Taj, she has been a part of several training programs at the Tata Management Training Centre in Pune, focusing on learning skills to be strong business managers with special emphasis on the Tata Code of Conduct.
