Glassdoor Announces Employees' Choice Winners
OREANDA-NEWS. Glassdoor, the leading jobs and career community, has announced the winners of its seventh annual Employees' Choice Awards, honouring the Best Places to Work in 2015 across the UK and the U.S. This is the first year Glassdoor has published a list of the Best Places to Work in the UK, based entirely on UK employee insights submitted over the past year. Unlike any other workplace awards, the Employees' Choice Awards are based solely on the input of employees who anonymously and voluntarily provide feedback, via the Glassdoor company review survey, about their job, work environment and company.
The 2015 awards honour companies in three different categories: 25 Best Places to Work UK -- new this year (based on UK employee feedback); 50 Best Places to Work -- U.S. (recognising employers with 1,000 or more employees; based on U.S. employee feedback); 50 Best Small & Medium Companies to Work For -- U.S. (recognising employers with fewer than 1,000 employees; based on U.S. employee feedback). Winners are ranked according to their overall company rating achieved during the past year (Ratings based on a 5-point scale: 1.0=very dissatisfied, 3.0=OK, 5.0=very satisfied).
Robert Hohman, Glassdoor CEO and co-founder, said: "Millions of employees around the world are turning to Glassdoor each month to share their work experiences and research companies. It is this type of authentic feedback that helps others find jobs and companies they love, and allows us to honour employers who stand out for their efforts in providing an enjoyable work environment and culture. I am proud to celebrate the 2015 Glassdoor Employees' Choice Awards winners in earning this tremendous achievement."
The Glassdoor company review survey gathers employee opinion on some of the best reasons to work for their employer (pros), some of the downsides (cons), and encourages employees to provide advice to senior management. Employees are asked to rate how satisfied they are with their company overall and how they feel their CEO is leading the company, as well as key workplace attributes like career opportunities, compensation & benefits, culture & values, senior management and work-life balance. In addition, employees are asked whether they would recommend their employer to a friend, and what their opinion is on the company's business outlook in the next six months.
The lists were compiled using Glassdoor's proprietary algorithm. Ratings are based on reviews from employees who participated in the survey between 13 November, 2013 and 2 November, 2014, and the overall ranking determined based on the quantity, quality and consistency of reviews. For reporting simplicity, the ratings for the Employees' Choice Awards winners are displayed to one decimal space although the calculations extend beyond the thousandth to determine final rank order.
