OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2014. As part of their regular meetings, the supervisory boards of ThyssenKrupp Elevator Technology AG, Industrial Solutions AG and Steel Europe AG have extended the appointments of several management board members and appointed two new ones.

In the Elevator Technology business area the appointment of Gabriele Sons (53) as CHRO and Labor Director was extended.

In the Industrial Solutions business area the appointment of CFO Jorg Schonewolf (52) was extended. Jens Michael Wegmann (49) was appointed as a new member of the business area’s management board with effect from February 1, 2015. Wegmann, who has a degree in electrical engineering, will succeed Dr. Joachim Panek, who is entering retirement on June 30, 2015. Following a familiarization period, Jens Michael Wegmann will take over as Chief Operating Officer from April with responsibility for Technology/Innovation/Sustainability, Procurement & Supply Management and Quality & Business Process Management. Among other things, Wegmann will also manage the implementation of Industrial Solutions’ growth strategy in the regions. Jens Michael Wegmann was most recently member of the Executive Board and Chief Business Officer of AGT International in Zurich. His previous positions include CEO of the Industry Solutions division of Siemens AG.

In the Steel Europe business area the appointments of Andreas Goss (50) as CEO and Thomas Schlenz (57) as CHRO and Labor Director were extended. Premal Desai (45) will be appointed as a new member of the management board with effect from January 1, 2015. Currently chief strategist for the ThyssenKrupp Group, Desai will take over as the business area’s Chief Financial Officer with responsibility for Controlling, Accounting & Risk, Information Technology, Purchasing Raw Materials/Energy & Materials Management and Compliance. Desai, who holds a degree in economics, joined ThyssenKrupp in 2006 and among other things has headed the Group’s own Management Consulting unit as well as Corporate Technology/Innovation/Sustainability. In addition to his position as chief strategist he is currently also responsible for Corporate Affairs. Before joining ThyssenKrupp Premal Desai worked for The Boston Consulting Group.
