Ukraine Toughening Control over Exports of Timber
OREANDA-NEWS. December 09, 2014. The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine toughening control over exports of timber, Interfax-Ukraine reported. Head of the State Fiscal Service Ihor Bilous wrote on his official Facebook page that according to customs service statistics, in January-September 2014 exports of timber exceeded last year figures by 27%.
"The State Fiscal Service is toughening control over exports of coal and timber. Why we will focus on this? The ATO is being conducted in some parts of Luhansk and Donetsk region.
The State Fiscal Service is toughening control over sale of coal from the territories where the state agencies do not fulfill their functions or fulfilled them not in full to ensure energy security of the state and liquidate internal sources of financing of separatism," he wrote.
He said that control over the lawfulness of deforestation should be provided, as well as the obtaining of permits for exports of timber and payment of the relevant internal taxes. "Mass deforestation will result in the increase of ecological disasters and it will have irreparable consequences for the economy of the whole regions of Ukraine," he added.
