OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, has always been at the forefront of driving various sustainability initiatives aimed at conserving the environment, and building awareness to facilitate a greener tomorrow. In line with this commitment, Tata Power, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Coastal Gujarat Power Limited (CGPL), has initiated Narendra Modi's national level campaign, 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', in the Mundra Township.

The objective behind this initiative was to communicate the significance of a clean environment to the local community, and ensure a more hygienic environment in the Mundra Township.

The initiative was formally launched by KK Sharma, CEO and ED- CGPL, Tata Power, and Mrs KK Sharma, Chairman - Ekta Ladies Society. Shyam Choudhury, Head - Business HR & IR, CGPL, explained the modalities of the initiative to the volunteers. This was followed by an oath taken by the gathering to abide by the commitment to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the Township.

Commenting on this initiative, Mr Sharma said, "The welfare of the community is at the heart of Tata Power's operations. By undertaking the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', we want to ensure sustainable growth and development of the community. A cleaner environment always spreads a sense of positive vigor and inspires the hope of a greener future for our future generations. We are proud to initiate the 'Swach Bharat Abhiyan' in our township, and we are confident of active participation from every corner of the society."

The initiative saw active participation from CGPL employees and enthusiastic volunteers of the communities. The unique initiative will be driven actively and monitored, and the clusters will be awarded suitably based on the performances.
