OREANDA-NEWS. AirBridgeCargo Airlines, Russia's largest schedule cargo airlines and part of Volga Dnepr Group, has successfully delivered a horizontal stabilizer for a Boeing 737 from Shanghai to Chicago on its way to the Boeing aircraft factory in Seattle.

The component's five individual pieces were delivered onboard two Boeing 747 freighter flights from China to the U.S. over the course of 24 hours. On arrival in Chicago, the cargo was delivered to Seattle by truck.

Robert Van de Weg, ABC's Vice President Sales & Marketing, said: "This shipment provided a perfect opportunity to demonstrate our expertise in the transportation of aerospace cargoes so and our ability to provide customers with a fast trans-regional service. We managed to reroute the initially EU-destined flights to the U.S. within a short period of time and to ensure an on-time delivery - which was an additional present for the Thanksgiving holiday!"

This is not the first time Volga-Dnepr has delivered high value aircraft parts for Boeing. In 2013, it also carried a wing section for Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Japan to Boeing's final assemly factory in Everett, USA, onboard one of Volga-Dnepr Airlines' An-124-100 'Ruslan' freighters.
