Kazakhstan, France to Produce Satellites & Fuel for Nuclear Reactors
OREANDA-NEWS. December 08, 2014. Kazakh and French companies will produce space satellites and fuel for nuclear reactors. This has been announced by Kazakh Vice Minister of Investment and Development Yerlan Sagadiyev on the Kazakh-French business forum.
"It is gratifying that together with our French partners we collect helicopters, electric locomotive, radiotechnics, produce titanium ingots, food products, and high-quality cement, develop technologies. There are plans to produce satellites, fuel for nuclear reactors, solar batteries and many others," he said.
Y. Sagadiyev emphasized that France is one of the largest investors in Kazakhstan. During the period 2005-2014 the volume of investments has amounted to about 10.8 billion euros, and it is not the limit.
"More than 100 of the largest French companies are operating in Kazakhstan now, who work in the oil and gas, nuclear, food industry, construction and transport industries and in the service sector," he added.
According to Vice Minister, France has become one of the leading trade partners of Kazakhstan in recent years, and takes the 5th place. Over the first nine months of current year, trade turnover has amounted to about 5 billion dollars.
The national currency of Kazakhstan tenge is not under the stress influence on the background of the devaluation expectations in Russia. This was announced by Kazakh Vice Minister of Investment and Development Yerlan Sagadiyev.
"If you keep track of those figures, which come from the National Bank, KZT is still not under stress. Will it be under stress - it depends on how much ruble falls. The most important is how much oil price will drop. This factor is also not without significance," Y. Sagadiyev said.
However, he added that today there is no visible reason for ruble falldown to affect the stability of the tenge somehow.
"It is clear that cheap Russian goods if they cross the border en masse, will exert a certain pressure on tenge. But today Russia cannot support fully itself, so we do not see that ruble falldown will lead to a sharp increase in imports. It is growing, but growth will not be significant " Kazakh Vice Minister of MID said.
"I think the main thing - to monitor the situation. Government steps will depend on how the situation develops in the future." Y.Sagadiyev summed up.
