Kazakhstan, China Discuss Cooperation in Oil Sector
OREANDA-NEWS. December 08, 2014. The 8th meeting of the Subcommittee on energetic cooperation of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee was concluded in the Chinese capital. Protocol was signed by the First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Uzakbai Karabalin and Deputy Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission - Chairman of National Energy Administration of China Wu Xinxiong.
"During the negotiations the implementation results of the decisions, taken at the previous 7th meeting, were considered, and plans for future cooperation are shaped: development and exploration of oil and gas, transportation of hydrocarbons, including the expansion of the pipeline, which runs from the Western Kazakhstan to China," the co-chairman of the Kazakh-Chinese Subcommittee on energetic cooperation, First Deputy Minister of Energy Uzakbai Karabalin said in an interview with journalists.
According to him, the meeting also discussed the development of joint projects in the nuclear industry, including increased sales of uranium stock. "The work on cooperation in the sphere of renewable energy is quite active. This is an important issue in the run-up to EXPO-2017," he said.
"The Chinese side has achieved good results in the sphere of renewable sources, so a simple transfer of these technologies as a first step in this direction by the principle of "do as I do" will be quite effective," U. Karabalin concluded.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "NC "KazMunaiGas", JSC "Kazatomprom", LLP "Asian Gas Pipeline", the Kazakh Embassy in China.
The Chinese side was represented by senior staff of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Public Energy Department, China Development Bank, Exim Bank of China, CNPC, Sinopec, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), China Guangdong Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC), Xinjiang Oil Company "Guanghui", "DATE groups ", "Zhenhua" etc.
